Additional involvement came from Chris Sumner who was setting up a new Lincoln University Rowing club using Newark as a base.

Boston RC provided a virtual base for Lincoln Rowing Centre to allow the club to become affiliated in August 2006.

Bruce & Jim then became the first Lincoln crew to undertake the Boston Marathon, proudly showing off the very bright stripes designed more for impact than for fashion. The red shorts coming in for particular constructive criticism; the extra large sizing being a matter of opinion whatever the label said!!

Ancholme Head provided the first competitive wins as composite Lincoln members Bruce, Chris & Jim joined up with Chris Morrill form the RAF to win the S2 4+ and Vet B 2- events.

Huntingdon Head capped the year for the still homeless Lincoln RC in its formative year with the honours in the S2 2x event.
